Omad diet: One meal, one hour, one day.

Eating only one meal a day is called omad. It does not have a specific routine of what you should eat or what time you should eat. It does not matter how much you eat as long as you are eating just one meal a day. Omad maintains 23:1 fast and is the longest fast where restriction of time is strictly maintained. In omad diet, you have to fast for 23 hours, but you may eat anything in the remaining 1 hour. Omad does not have a set menu where you have to keep track of your food intake. So there is no calorie restriction nor requires specific nutrients for your body.

However, experts suggest maintaining a low-carb nutrition diet while on the omad diet for more effective results. If you are taking low carb but don’t experience positive results, you could try omad temporarily to kick start. Omad is simple because you have to prepare one meal in 24 hours. It also gives you a choice of what you want to eat and how much you want to eat. But you have a limit of only one hour to do so. Omad is convenient for people who travel often and those tied up with a hectic work shift.

Time-restricted fasting like omad reduces hyperinsulinemia, fights diabetes, and improves the metabolism system. Studies discovered that omad diet improves metabolism because of its extended time of fast. Omad is better than shorter fast if you follow the routine daily. No matter how much you eat, it’s difficult for you to exceed your daily calorie need in one hour.

It is considered to be one of the clinical benefits as it enables a reduced intake of calories. It is advisable for people who already have an eating disorder history to avoid omad. Since you eat only one meal a day in 24 hours, there will be nutrients imbalance in your body. Like you restrict calorie intake, you are also restricting protein. Ensure that you know how much protein you should consume depending on your body.

When you are on omad, you will enjoy better mental health as your focus will be on fitness. Since your meal consumption is just once in a day, you will end up thinking less about food. Eating three meals a day keeps you occupied because of cooking and cleaning up after eating. So you end up wasting plenty of energy and time spending time in the kitchen.
